How can Wichita area patients experience safe tooth extractions?

We would all love to keep our natural teeth, but there are certain circumstances in which patients may need to undergo tooth extractions. With East Wichita Dentist, these extractions are always safe and effective at addressing the problem at hand. Additionally, our practice provides many restorative solutions for those who have recently had extractions done and who want to repair the aesthetics and function of their smile afterwards.

The team of East Wichita Dentist has been providing tooth extractions for many years to ensure safety and effectiveness in maintaining the health and beauty of the smile. Patients can learn about the ways in which smiles can be repaired after the removal of the natural teeth, including bridges, dentures, and dental implants. These are the three primary ways the team of East Wichita Dentist will replace the missing teeth and provide patients with fully functioning smiles.

Extractions are often done as an outpatient procedure and patients are encouraged to bring someone for transportation before and after the treatment. Several x-rays are done beforehand to check the structure of the bone and tooth underneath. Simple extractions are done using a special forceps, which helps ease the tooth out of the socket and it can be done almost instantly after patients are comfortable with local anesthetics. Oral surgeries are more complicated and require dentists to cut into the gum tissue to access the teeth underneath the gum line for removal. This often relates to the extraction of impacted wisdom teeth or the removal of teeth that have not yet erupted through the ridge of the gums. Many dentists will refer these types of oral surgeries out, while the team of East Wichita Dentist can handle most extraction situations without a specialist. The team at our practice also provides oral conscious sedation, which can be used to keep patients comfortable throughout the procedure and even relax them well beforehand.

Extractions may be required for many reasons, but are often a last resort when other restorative methods are not available or will not be sufficient in protecting the structure of the natural tooth.
