Veneers

East Wichita Dentist

Rating: 5 5 Star Reviews, East Wichita Dentist

I love going to the Dentist. What could I compare it to? Water boarding? Pulling off your fingernails? A kick in the groin?Perhaps Draw and quartering? But you guys make it very pleasant. Honestly. Everyone is so nice and when I am there I feel like I am in good hands. Thanks for all you do. I have been to many dentists and you guys by far are the best. Have a good day!!!!!
We first began working with dental veneers about 30 years ago. Over time, veneer technology and materials have gone through many changes. Originally, they weren't even made of porcelain. They were thin plastic shells, which we attached to the front of teeth. We started using porcelain nearly 20 years ago, due to its hardness, longevity, and natural appearance. Today, this is one of the most frequently requested cosmetic procedures at East Wichita Dentist.

If you are considering porcelain veneers, it is important to choose an experienced dentist. There are right ways and wrong ways to do veneers. We believe that the best method is to remove as little tooth material as possible. This preserves the tooth structure, and improves the strength of the veneer, because it bonds better to enamel.

Very few office visits are needed to design and place veneers. We will start with a consultation to find out what you want. Veneers can be made to cover up the teeth, or to match the teeth. That depends on what the patient wants. Many people want their teeth to be ultra-white, which looks less natural than slightly darker shades. However, that has been a growing trend for the last 10-15 years. We are here to oblige, just tell us your preference, and we'll make your veneers accordingly.

The entire process usually takes four or five appointments, unless you really want them today – then we can accommodate. We will need to take impressions, make models, plan your veneers, and prepare your teeth. We have the equipment to do same day veneers, but we usually go to the laboratory if several veneers are being created.

Veneers can be a great solution if you want to change the size or color of teeth, close gaps, and correct some crowding. However, if your teeth look nice and crowding is the only problem, orthodontics would probably be a better solution. We always prefer the most conservative option available.

If you are unhappy with the appearance of your smile in any way, come see us! Call (316) 686-7395 or use the form alongside of this article to schedule your appointment today.
